Needle acupuncture, electro-acupuncture and acupressure by a diploma-qualified specialist. Treatment works by activating the body’s energy points to address pain and nerve disorders — without medication and without surgery.
How treatment works
At the first sitting the history of the condition, the character of the pain and any earlier investigations guide the choice of points. The needles are extremely fine — most patients feel light pressure rather than a prick.
- Needle acupuncture — fine needles at selected points for 20–30 minutes
- Electro-acupuncture — a very mild electrical current through the needles, useful in long-standing, deep-seated pain
- Acupressure — pressure only, no needles — for children and anyone uneasy about needles
How many sittings are needed
Typically two or three sittings a week, and between 10 and 20 in total depending on how long the condition has been present. Older conditions take longer. Progress is reviewed after every five sittings.
