Panchakarma is Ayurveda’s purification therapy — methods that clear accumulated imbalance and restore the body’s tissues. The centre offers the panchakarma methods most useful in pain and joint disease, under the physician’s supervision.
Methods available at the centre
- Svedana — medicated steam for muscular stiffness and pain
- Pichu — a pad soaked in medicated oil, for knee and joint pain
- Greeva-basti — a well of warm medicated oil on the neck, for cervical spondylitis
- Kati-basti — the same at the lower back, for back pain and slip disc
- Basti — bowel cleansing, given as a structured course
How a course runs
The method and duration are set by the condition and the patient’s strength — usually a course of 7 to 21 days. Combining panchakarma with acupuncture and yoga usually gives better results in long-standing joint pain.
