Symptoms
Patients with back pain usually describe:
- Stiffness or pulling in the lower back, especially in the morning
- Pain that builds after long sitting, driving or standing
- Sudden sharp pain on bending or lifting
- A knot of hard, tight muscle on one side
- Pain that worsens with fatigue by the end of the day
If the pain also travels down the leg, sciatica or a slip disc should be assessed. Unexplained weight loss, pain that worsens at night, or back pain with fever always needs medical investigation.
How treatment works at Arogyam
The consultation reviews where the pain sits, your work, your sitting and sleeping posture and any earlier investigations. That is what separates muscular pain from nerve-related pain.
Acupuncture and acupressure
Needling or pressure at points in the tight back muscles releases the spasm and restores movement.
Yoga therapy
The most useful work for the back strengthens the abdominal and hip muscles rather than stretching forward. Safe practices are selected for your condition and built into a home plan.
Posture correction
Chair height, lumbar support, how you lift, and standing up every hour — these changes do the most to prevent recurrence.
Weight and nutrition
Weight carried around the abdomen loads the lower back directly. A gradual diet plan is given where relevant.
